Il quieto vivere (anything for a quiet life) is not for me as compromising with principles is not acceptable to me. Call me whatever you like and burn me at the stake but I will not acquiesce.

Dear Signora Nicodemi, what a pleasure to find your blog. I remember you as a teacher, unfortunately not to my son, he was too young. I have quickly read some of your entries, and you have not changed at all. Compromise, il quieto vivere, are not you.
